A great antique (19th Century) American splint gathering basket--flat bottom with handle. Origin North Carolina. Great centerpiece size, 17 inch x 13 inch and deep excellent craftsmanship. Solid with super bent wood handle that goes all the way down the basket. but there is a loss of weave on one area of its flat bottom--see last pictures. Gorgeous form and patina.
