    Description

This is a unique antique, handmade, brown wooden fold away (folding) rack.  The 6 notches appear to be made for clothing hangers, but they could accommodate other objects, such as candles, herbs, or flowers hung by string.
There are two drilled holes for mounting screws to hang on a wall. Does not come with the screws.
When folded shut, it measures 12.5 inches tall. When folded out it stands out 11.5 inches from the wall. When folded shut it measures 2 inches from the wall. It is 2 inches wide.
This would be very good in a farm style house in the kitchen or laundry area. But it would also be wonderful in an apartment where you have limited space and want to introduce vintage handcrafted objects. I purchased this years ago in an antique store in Seattle in the 1980s. I have never seen another rack like this one.
I have wondered if this was originally used in a rooming house or hotel for residents to hang their clothing, or if it were created for a candle maker to hang candles to dry.
